What you put in your mouth defines who you are.
Now I could write sermon on this topic, because there is both spiritual and physical meaning in that statement. Yet, I will stick with the earthly today, and leave the preaching to those who are a bit more qualified than me. But just take a gander at a few of the adjectives that you can use to describe food.
Take for example the fish and meats that are at your local grocer. Do you really think any of it is fresh? I can’t recall the last time I was at a grocery store where there was fish that had not been previously frozen. And don’t even get me started on the ground meats – remember the pink slime report?? How about the bacteria that inhabits the surface of our cut meats?
The first step in combating obesity is to watch what we eat. Portion control is vital, and this will be discussed in the next blog. But let’s start with making healthier food choices.
